The E-B load lifter was a model of industrial loader droid used to lift, unload and move heavy cargo during the Imperial Era.
History[]
In 9 BBY[3] the Galactic Empire used E-B loader droids in their mining operations on the planet Mapuzo. When Obi-Wan Kenobi and Leia Organa smuggled themselves to Mapuzo from Daiyu aboard Transport eight, E-B loader droids were stationed at the landing pad for unloading the cargo from the TR-286 transport.[2]
One E-B loader droid on Mapuzo named NED-B worked with the Imperial officer Tala Durith as an agent of the underground movement known as the Hidden Path. They helped smuggle surviving Jedi and other Force-sensitive individuals to safety. He kept watch over a safehouse hidden within the droid maintenance building of a Mapuzo mining village.[2]
