Emily Kate Johnston[2] (born May 19, 1984) is the author of the young-adult novel Ahsoka, which was released on October 11, 2016.[3] She later wrote the story "By Whatever Sun" for the anthology From a Certain Point of View, which focuses on the character Miara Larte created by Johnston for Ahsoka, showing the character's actions during the events of A New Hope.

Johnston's other Star Wars work includes the novel Queen's Shadow (March 2019), its prequel Queen's Peril (June 2020), and their sequel Queen's Hope (April 2022) which focus on Padmé Amidala.
