Emily Kate Johnston[3] (born May 19, 1984) is the author of the young-adult novel Ahsoka, which was released on October 11, 2016.[2] She also wrote the story "By Whatever Sun," published in the anthology From a Certain Point of View, which focuses on the character Miara Larte created by Johnston for Ahsoka, showing the character's actions during the events of A New Hope.

Johnston latest work is the novel Queen's Shadow, which was released on March 5, 2019.
