The EG-series power droid, also known as the EG power droid, was a model of power droid manufactured by Veril Line Systems. Like the very similar GNK-series power droid, it emitted low honking sounds, which earned it the nickname of "gonk droid."[1]
When C-3PO and R2-D2 were captured by Jawas on Tatooine, an EG-6 power droid was present in the sandcrawler they were stored in. The Lars family owned an EG-6 power droid.[2] The droid WG-22 was a modified EG-series droid to be a gladiator droid.[3] The droid EG-86 was a courier droid of vital information for the Rebellion.[4]
EG-4 was a EG-series power droid owned by the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War against the Galactic Empire. While the Alliance was based in Echo Base on the planet Hoth, EG-4 provided power to the starships and machinery around the base.[5]
