Manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems,[1] EX-4-9 was a TIE/LN starfighter within the Imperial Navy during the Galactic Civil War.[2] By 3 ABY,[3] the Executor-class Star Dreadnought[4] Executor included EX-4-9 among two full wings of TIE/LN starfighters at the Star Dreadnought's disposal, at a total of 144 starships. Around that time, EX-4-9 flew through the Hoth asteroid field.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
EX-4-9 was created in 2003 on a card for the Empire Strikes Back expansion set of the Star Wars Trading Card Game. The image on the card is an edited version of[2] a still from the 1980 original trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.[4] The lead TIE in the photo was altered for the card as a rotated version of[2] a film still of Black 11, a TIE/LN starfighter from 1983's original trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi,[5] which was inserted to take the place of the lead TIE from the original The Empire Strikes Back still.[2][4]
