- "What's going on? I haven't heard anything from them rogue CorSecs."
- ―Kaiya Merel, to a spacer
Echdo Bervekk was a Human male Rogue CorSec officer who lived on Corellia during the time of the Galactic Civil War. After the Battle of Yavin, Bervekk and fellow Rogue CorSec officer Erinn Bonette worked with another criminal, the Meatlump lieutenant Kaiya Merel. Merel dispatched a new Meatlump recruit to help them hijack a shuttle. However, the Meatlump recruit was in fact a spacer working for the Corellia Times reporter Vani Korr who was investigating the Meatlumps. The spacer met the two Rogue CorSec officers near Coronet and attacked them. Erinn Bonette and Echdo Bervekk were killed in the confrontation.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Echdo Bervekk appeared as a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[3] Echdo Bervekk was added to the game with the update dubbed "Chapter 10: The Search for the Meatlump King," released on June 19, 2008.[4]
This non-player character (NPC) was known in the game as Echdo Bervekk or Bechdo Ervekk, depending of the Combat Level (CL) of the player. If the player performed the quest "The Meatlumps Hideout, Part 6" during the leveling of their character (at CL 65), the NPC would be named Echdo Bervekk. If the player performed the quest after the end of the game (at CL 90), the NPC would be named Bechdo Ervekk. Multiple story elements indicated that the quest was intended to be achieved at CL 65.[2]

Notes and references[]
- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
