"Eight-eight-six-seven through Eight-eight-six-nine, affix grapples and follow me. Everybody else prepare for covering fire."
―Commander Cody gives "A" Squad, including Eight-eight-six-nine, orders[3]

Eight-eight-six-nine was a clone trooper that served as part of the 212 Attack Battalion's "A" Squad during the Battle of Sarrish. Alongside Marshal Commander Cody, Eight-eight-six-seven, and Eight-eight-six-eight, Eight-eight-six-nine attempted to climb a mountain utilizing an ascension cable, only to be killed in the process; of the group's members, only Cody survived.[3]

  2. Although The Essential Atlas places the Battle of Sarrish during the Outer Rim Sieges of 20 BBY to 19 BBY, it is assumed to take place specifically in 20 BBY because it precedes the events of "Missing in Action," which takes place in 20 BBY according to The Official Star Wars Fact File Part 58 DSQ 1-2: D-Squad. As Eight-eight-six-nine died during the Battle of Sarrish, it can be concluded that he died in 20 BBY.
