Rey had visions in which she was corrupted by the dark side and took the Sith throne.
Empress was a title of a ruler. Millennia before the fall of the Galactic Republic, the blue-skinned Anselmi formed their own empire on Glee Anselm, ruled by an empress.[2] When Galactic Emperor Palpatine ruled the Galactic Empire, Empress Leeya governed the Regency Worlds.[3] Later, Palpatine revealed that he was the Sith Lord Darth Sidious and urged his granddaughter, the Jedi Padawan Rey, to give into the dark side by killing him and claim the Throne of the Sith as Empress. The Sith Lord embodied those who came before him and sought to transfer his spirit into Rey's body and conquer Rey, but she affirmed that she was a Jedi and ultimately defeated Sidious.[1]
