An epaulet was a shoulder-adorning ornament seen on certain military uniforms.
- "Tunics continue to be double-breasted with choker collars, but are absent shoulder-boards or epaulets."
- ―An RA-7 protocol droid, to Moff Wilhuff Tarkin
Epaulets were a a type of ornament worn on the shoulders of military uniforms, typically worn by officers. As of 14 BBY, most Imperial military officers' tunics did not have epaulets.[1] Exceptions to this were the uniforms of Grand Admirals, which bore gold epaulets,[2] and the uniforms of both ISB Major Partagaz and Colonel Wullf Yularen, which bore silver epaulets.[3] For formal gatherings, ISB personnel like ISB Supervisors and Director Orson Callan Krennic wore silver epaulets as well.[4] Additionally, Army Commandant Jayhold Beehaz's ceremonial uniform bore silver epaulets.[5]
General Yiv the Benevolent of the Nikardun Destiny wore symbionts on his shoulders which were likened to epaulets.[6]
