"The ag-producers of the Abrion have lived for decades with few options and limited control of the goods we provide. Now, though, we've found appreciative markets without the restrictive bureaucracy of the Republic"
―Esu Rotsino tending Abrion Major's Articles of Secession[src]

Esu Rotsino was a female senator who represented the agricultural planet Abrion Major in the Senate of the Galactic Republic. In 22 BBY, during the Separatist Crisis, due to her planet's ag-producers living for years with minimal options and control of the goods they provided, Rotsino led the entire Abrion sector to defect from the Republic to the Confederacy of Independent Systems. In her Articles of Secession to the Senate, Rotsino explained that the sector felt that the Separatists were a more appreciative market to their products, and that they wished to be freed from the bureaucracy of the Republic. As a result of her actions, many Republic planets began to plea to the Senate for aid, as their food supplies had come from the Abrion sector.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

Esu Rotsino was mentioned in the HoloNet article Abrion Sector Secedes; Separatists Get Agri-Worlds, which was published within the HoloNet News Vol. 531 52 in 2002[1] and written by Pablo Hidalgo and Paul Ens with illustrations by Joe Corroney.[2] Rotsino's name is an anagram of Sue Rostoni, the executive editor for Lucas Licensing at the time.[3]
