Around 1 ABY a large asteroid in the Kashyyyk system exploded, spewing large amounts of molten rock into space.[1]

The exploding asteroid can be seen in the Kashyyyk system in Rage of the Wookiees, the second expansion to Sony Online Entertainment's MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided. It is a two-dimensional animated background image. The game provides no further information about the object or the events leading to its explosion. In the game files the animation is called "exploding asteroid".[1]
