"Ah! I see you still have your lightsaber."
"Ezra's lightsaber."
"True, he constructed it and by all accounts it served him well. Then he passed it onto you. You have since made your own modifications, so it is now your lightsaber."
―Huyang and Sabine Wren[3]

Sabine Wren's lightsaber, formerly known as Ezra Bridger's second lightsaber, was a green-bladed lightsaber constructed by Ezra Bridger, a Padawan and rebel who lived in the years prior to the Battle of Yavin, sometime after his original lightsaber was destroyed by the Sith Lord Darth Vader during the mission to Malachor.

Before his disappearance with Grand Admiral Thrawn aboard the Chimaera, Bridger gave his lightsaber to Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren, who kept and modified it during and after her training from Ahsoka Tano in the years after Bridger disappeared into hyperspace with the Admiral.

Ezra's second lightsaber emitted a green blade.

Sabine Wren's lightsaber[10] featured a hilt with a black grip and silver accents.[2] It originally belonged to the Jedi Padawan Ezra Bridger, who passed the blade along to Wren after it had served him well.[3] Unlike his first lightsaber, which utilized a blue kyber crystal, Bridger's new lightsaber contained a green kyber crystal.[source?] It was also built to the more traditional lightsaber design,[1] as opposed to his old lightsaber-blaster hybrid.[11]

In Wren's possession, the hilt's overall design remained mostly unchanged, albeit with some modifications, including a larger emitter shroud.[3] The guard pieces she installed by the blade emitter served to protect her hands from it.[12]

History[]

Following the destruction of Ezra Bridger's lightsaber by the Sith Lord Darth Vader on Malachor, Bridger built a new lightsaber[2] sometime between 3 BBY[4] and 2 BBY[5] During the mission to Krownest, Sabine Wren wielded the lightsaber when she fought Governor Gar Saxon who wielded the Darksaber.[13]

Later on, during a mission to investigate what the Galactic Empire was doing with large kyber crystals, Saw Gerrera used the weapon to ignite one of such crystals to destroy the Imperial freighter that was carrying it.[14]

During the Liberation of Lothal, after Bridger's strike team seized control of the Imperial Complex, Bridger left his lightsaber in the hands of Wren after Grand Admiral Thrawn issued an ultimatum in which Bridger had to turn himself in alone onboard the Chimaera to prevent Capital City from being bombarded. After Bridger managed to repel Thrawn's Imperial fleet from Lothal, Wren used the lightsaber to break through a window and out of the Complex as the rebels rigged the building to explode, providing them with a quick escape route.[9]

Since possessing the lightsaber, Wren added her own modifications to it, though she insisted the lightsaber still belonged to Bridger. Despite its creator, Huyang noted that her own additions therefore made her the owner rather than the former.[3] Wren used the saber to duel Shin Hati outside the comm tower on Lothal[7] and later Seatos.[15] Wren believed Ahsoka Tano to be dead and accepted the offer of Baylan Skoll to travel with them to the other galaxy, with the saber being confiscated.[15] After arriving on Peridea in the other galaxy and meet Thrawn, he agreed to let Wren search for Ezra, they returned the saber which Wren used to defend herself of bandits.[16]

After finally finding Bridger, they were attacked by Hati and bandits. Wren attempted to return the saber to him, but Bridger shared the same viewpoint as Huyang, telling Wren that she should keep it. Although she opposed his stance on the matter, Bridger urged Wren to keep the lightsaber as it belonged to her. She used it to fight the bandits and Hati.[17] Bridger later built a new one with a blue kyber crystal. In their attempt to stop Thrawn's return to the known galaxy, Wren used her saber to dispatch Night Troopers and a zombified Death Trooper.[18]
