"Fair Prey" is a short story by Daniel Wallace. It was published in Star Wars Gamer 1 in 2000 by Wizards of the Coast as a sequel to Wallace's earlier story The Great Herdship Heist. It was originally approved to run in issue 18 of the Star Wars Adventure Journal but that issue was never published.[3]
Plot summary[]
When Cecil Noone tries to unload a stolen Hapan Gun of Command on the backwater planet of Kabal, he tries to strike a bargain with Krish hunter Tyro Viveca. Tyro instead steals the weapon and throws Cecil into his hunting grounds, where he will be stalked as game. Cecil desperately races to freedom, briefly assisted by a fellow prisoner, a vicious Florn Lamproid, before finally escaping with the aid of his fellow thieves.
Continuity[]
Background text that accompanied this short story cited the 1924 short story The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell's as inspiration. The same story inspired the 2011 episodes of the Clone Wars Padawan Lost and Wookiee Hunt. [2]
