Fantabu were a species which produced fur and wool. The devotees of the Church of the Force living in Tuanul on the planet Jakku used the hair of fantabu in their clothing, with Lor San Tekka wearing a home-spun fantabu wool coat and Dasha Promenti wearing a vest fringed with fantabu-fur.
Behind the scenes
The fur and wool of a fantabu first appeared as part of a costume in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, a film released in 2015. The substance was not identified in the film, but was named in the reference book Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, written by Pablo Hidalgo and released the day after the film.
