Fantail-class destroyers were a class of destroyer that saw use by the Corporate Alliance and later the naval forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars against the Galactic Republic. During the war, in which the Corporate Alliance sided with the Confederacy, Fantail-class destroyers were used to defend the corporation's headquarters on the planet Murkhana and were supported by Sikurdian privateers.[1]

Fantail-class destroyers were first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Fantail-class destroyer was introduced in Labyrinth of Evil, a 2005 novel authored by James Luceno, in which it was simply referred to as "Fantail."[2] It later received its full name in The Essential Guide to Warfare, a 2012 reference book authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart.[3]
