"Coruscant remains under Imperial control, but the fleeing loyalist armadas have ceded the rest of their territory to us. That leaves the warlords and opportunists isolated; eliminating the last of them will take time, but few remain a serious threat."
―Gial Ackbar, to the rest of the New Republic High Command[1]

The Faultheen sector was under the control of the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War.[1] In 5 ABY,[2] after the New Republic had gained much of the Empire's territory, the Faultheen sector remained under Imperial control. On a holographic map displayed during a New Republic High Command meeting, the sector represented one of the largest areas that the Empire's warlords and opportunists still occupied, alongside the Anoat sector and the Chrenthoan Abyss. During the meeting, Admiral Gial Ackbar claimed that territories like the Faultheen sector remained isolated, with few of them being considered a serious threat to the New Republic.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Faultheen sector appeared in a hologram in the 2021 novel Victory's Price, the final volume of the Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron trilogy which was written by Alexander Freed.[1]

Notes and references[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 Victory's Price
  2. Victory's Price begins eleven months after the Battle of Endor, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 4 ABY, and features the Battle of Jakku, which Galactic Atlas in turn places in 5 ABY. Since Before the Awakening establishes that Kes Dameron and Shara Bey moved to Yavin 4 around six months after the Battle of Endor and Galactic Atlas dates their move to 5 ABY, Victory's Price must therefore be set in 5 ABY. Furthermore, since the appearance of the Faultheen sector in Victory's Price occurs prior to the Battle of Jakku, it must also have taken place that year.
