"The Graveyard's full of bodies, from Feressee's Point to the Spike."
―Rey mentions the point in her survival guide[2]

Feressee's Point was a rock formation in the Starship Graveyard on the desert planet Jakku. Starship wrecks and corpses dating back to the Battle of Jakku in 5 ABY could be found near the formation. By 34 ABY, the scavenger Rey mentioned Feressee's Point in her survival guide and it was listed as an interesting locale in a planetary capsule of data on Jakku included in Resistance pilot Poe Dameron's flight log at some point after the Battle of Starkiller Base.

Description[]

Feressee's Point was a rock formation near the Carbon Ridge mountains[1] within the Starship Graveyard in the Goazon Badlands on the desert planet Jakku. The Graveyard was littered with starships brought down in the Battle of Jakku[2] in 5 ABY[3] and the bodies of their crews, with the corpses found all the way from Feressee's Point to the ship known as the Spike.[2]

History[]

"There's a Ghtroc 720. You know the one? Out by Feressee's Point?"
―Strunk[4]
A flat gray freighter with a large cockpit in the center of its front end sits on a landing platform.

A Ghtroc 720 light freighter was one of several freighters crashed near Feressee's Point.

By 33 ABY,[5] a Ghtroc 720 light freighter had crashed near Feressee's Point, splitting into pieces upon impact.[4] That year,[5] the scavenger Strunk mentioned the point when discussing the wrecked freighter with his fellow scavengers Rey and Devi.[4] By 34 ABY,[6] Rey had written about Feressee's Point in a survival guide[2] she[4] created while living on Jakku.[2]

Around 34 ABY,[7] Jaylin and another scavenger lived together in a battered old Alliance to Restore the Republic freighter that had crashed near Feressee's Point during the Battle of Jakku.[8] Feressee's Point was also included on a list of interesting locales on Jakku in a planetary capsule of data on the world that Resistance pilot Poe Dameron included in his flight log following the Battle of Starkiller Base[9] in 34 ABY.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Feressee's Point was first mentioned simultaneously in Rey's Survival Guide, a replica journal written by Jason Fry,[2] and Before the Awakening, an anthology written by Greg Rucka,[4] both of which released on December 18, 2015.[10][11] The point was then depicted for the first time in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations.[12]

  6. Rey's Survival Guide includes an addendum at the end describing some of the events of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, written several days after they take place. The addendum is the final entry in the guide and is included chronologically after the entry mentioning Feressee's Point. Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of the film to 34 ABY.
  7. Choose Your Destiny: A Scavenger Mission states that the Battle of Jakku took place thirty years earlier and depicts Rey living on Jakku. Star Wars: Timelines dates the battle to 5 ABY, but also dates Rey leaving Jakku to 34 ABY, meaning the events of A Scavenger Mission cannot take place a full thirty years after the battle. This article assumes the statement to be an approximation, meaning it took place around 34 ABY.
