The Ferrix occupation occurred when the Galactic Empire occupied the planet Ferrix in 5 BBY. Following the ambush on Ferrix, Preox-Morlana's authority over the Morlani system was rescinded. In its place, an Imperial garrison was established on Ferrix, headquartered in Hotel Rix.

The occupation was initially overseen by ISB Supervisor Blevin, who had Chief Inspector Hyne, Deputy Inspector Syril Karn and Sergeant Linus Mosk transferred away from Ferrix. Control of the Morlani system was transferred to Supervisor Dedra Meero, Blevin's colleague in the Imperial Security Bureau, by order of Major Lio Partagaz.

Pre-occupation[]

In 5 BBY, Cassian Jeron Andor killed two Pre-Mor Security officers, Verlo Skiff and Kravas Drezzer, while searching for his sister Kerri on Morlana One. Deputy Inspector Syril Karn investigated the murder of Skiff and Drezzer despite Chief Inspector Hyne's orders to cover up the incident.[11] Karn tracked Andor to his homeworld of Ferrix, where he commanded a contingent of the Pre-Mor Enforcement with the support of Sergeant Linus Mosk. However, they failed to capture Andor who escaped with Luthen Rael's help. The mission ultimately resulted in the deaths of several Pre-Mor officers.[12]

The occupation[]

Control of the Morlani system was taken from Preox-Morlana by the Galactic Empire in consequence of the Ferrix incident.[2] The Imperial Army established a garrison on Ferrix and commandeered a hotel on Rix Road to use as their headquarters.[7] ISB Supervisor Blevin, a member of the Imperial Security Bureau, was dispatched from Coruscant to oversee Imperial rule in the Morlani system. Hyne, Karn, and Mosk were accused of incompetence by Blevin, who ordered the trio to report to a transfer center while he oversaw the establishment of permanent Imperial rule in the Free Trade sector.[2] However, Major Partagaz later transferred the system to the jurisdiction of ISB Supervisor Dedra Meero, who convinced the major that the incident on Ferrix was connected to a rebel network.[4]
