"Let's get my ship."
―Sana Starros, arriving on Novka[2]

Novka was an astronomical object in the Mid Rim Territories where the Galactic Empire operated an impound yard. When the smuggler Sana Starros was captured by the Empire after assisting members of the Rebel Alliance, her ship, the Volt Cobra, was taken to Novka to be impounded. After escaping the Empire, rebel heroes Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, along with Starros and members of Clan Markona, attacked the impound yard to retrieve the ship.

Description[]

A terrestrial astronomical object[2] in the Mid Rim Territories,[1] Novka orbited at least one star and had an atmosphere that was breathable to humans. At least three other celestial bodies were visible in its pale orange sky.[2]

History[]

"Control to SCAR Squadron. Transponder is in order, but you're not broadcasting today's clearance code. I repeat. Broadcast—"
"Look! It's accelerating"
―Two Imperial Navy Troopers, before the rebels crash their shuttle on Novka[2]

During the Imperial Era, the Galactic Empire operated an Imperial Impound Yard on Novka, taking captured starships to be impounded.[2] When the smuggler Sana Starros was captured by the Imperial stormtrooper squad Task Force 99, or SCAR Squadron,[3] after helping the Rebel Alliance leaders Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo escape the Empire,[4] her ship, the Volt Cobra, was taken to be held at the yard on Novka.[2]

Attack at Novka

The attack on the Impound Yard begins.

Once the rebels escaped a skirmish against Task Force 99 on the moon Hubin, along with Starros and the resident Clan Markona, led by Tula Markona,[5] they commandeered the squad's Sentinel-class landing craft to attack the Imperial Impound Yard on Novka. The rebels crashed their shuttle on Novka, destroying a control tower and killing the Imperial Navy Troopers inside. Tula Markona and her clan led the attack, followed by the rebels and Starros, who broke into the Volt Cobra. Clan Markona fought their way to a YT-2400 light freighter, and both ships escaped Novka, heading to[2] the planet[6] Brentaal IV.[2]
