Micro-pulse blasters were a form of blaster weapons used during the time of the Great Sith War. The weapon worked by firing short controlled bursts of coherent energy rather than a fully powered energy blast. The weapons were usually created from thoranium, allowing them to release more powerful discharges than standard blasters, even larger rifles.
