The tractor beam targeting array was a feature of Imperial I-class Star Destroyers. It was responsible for tracking the targets of the ship's tractor beams at long range. Located on top of the command tower, it sat between two deflector shield projector globes.[1] Imperial II-class Star Destroyers[2] replaced the array with a communications tower,[3] as did upgraded[4] Imperial I-class Star Destroyers[5] such as Conquest,[6] Devastator,[4] and Harbinger.[7] However, an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer with a tractor beam targeting array participated in the Battle of Endor.[8]

- ↑ Star Wars: Card Trader (Card: Star Destroyer - Star Wars Rebels: Blueprints) identified the tractor beam targeting array the Conquest was seen to have in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. This was replaced by the communications array as seen in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back on the Conquest, so the Conquest must have been upgraded.
- ↑ Star Wars: The Rebel Files depicts the Harbinger with a targeting array, which Starships and Speeders identifies as being a feature of an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer. Star Wars (2015) 22 then subsequently depicts it as a communications tower. Therefore, the Harbinger must have been upgraded to include the tower.
