Cadence was the name given to a type of lightsaber drill in ancient Jedi lore. While Rey was training with Luke Skywalker on Ahch-To, her overly energetic practice of cadences led to the destruction of a rock formation known locally as the "Windwailer."[1]
Behind the scenes[]
In the Star Wars canon, cadences were first mentioned in the 2019 reference book Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, cadences were first mentioned in the Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim, a supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, published by West End Games[2] on May 13, 1993.[3]
