This article is about the planet. You may be looking for the CR90 corvette of the same name.

Filve was the hot, dry homeworld of the Filvians in the Dufilvian sector of the Mid Rim.

Description[]

It was the location of an Imperial spaceport and served as a major starship service, trade, and information hub. It was also the homeworld of one of the four Human directors of the Trade Federation.[3] A number of the galaxy's wealthiest corporations, such as Sienar and BlasTech Industries, opened branch offices on Filve.[2]

Its deserts were punctuated by giant, self-contained, climate-controlled cities where both natives and offworlders could avoid the harsh environment. The cities were interlocked, so outdoor travel between them could completely be avoided. The planet had a population of 6 billion.

History[]

Early in the Galactic Civil War, Filve received much punishment from Imperial forces, both from actual attacks on the planet and damage from battles occurring above it. By the time of the Battle of Yavin, Filve had been showing strong support for the Alliance to Restore the Republic.[4]

The cruiser Dominant was assigned to the defense of the Dulfilvian system following its commission. It was later reassigned to Filve's reserve fleet.[5]

In 9 ABY the planet was attacked by the Star Destroyer Judicator as part of a diversion that sent New Republic forces from Ord Pardron there, and eventually back to Ord Pardron, keeping them away from nearby Ukio. Leia Organa Solo attempted to negotiate with the Filvian governor, though Joruus C'baoth ordered the Millennium Falcon destroyed.

Behind the scenes[]

The PC game Star Wars: Rebellion mistakenly places the Dufilvan sector (a misspelling of the true Dufilvian sector) and, consequently, Filve, in the Outer Rim Territories. It also uses a graphic of a planet with oceans to represent the world.
