The Finance Committee was a committee in the Galactic Senate that related to the Galactic Republic's budgetary and financial matters. Several subcommittees were placed under the Finance Committee which were concerned with matters such as revenue generation, government grant approvals, annual budgets, and emergency relief fund appropriations. Despite his corrupt reputation, Twi'lek Senator Orn Free Taa of the planet Ryloth was a member of the Finance Committee and chaired several of its subcommittees.[1]

The Finance Committee was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] The Finance Committee was originally mentioned in the Star Wars Legends continuity in The Rebel Alliance Sourcebook, a 1990 roleplaying book authored by Paul Murphy for the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games.[2]
