"Then, I suppose the only flying I'll get to do is playing Flight Simulator Squadron."
"Wait. You have Flight Simulator Squadron?"
"All three of them. Do you want to play?"
―Torra Doza and Kazuda Xiono[1]

Flight Simulator Squadron was a flight simulator hologame that could be played by two beings. The game was a flight simulator in which a player raced against another in a starship while avoiding asteroids and an occasional space slug that could pop up from the top of the screen. The game utilized gesture controls from the player in order to pilot the starship. In total, there were three versions of the game.[1]

There were other games similar to Flight Simulator Squadron. The arcade game Space Slug Slam 6[2] featured the same kind of graphics and challenges as Flight Simulator Squadron, but involved a single player interacting with a 2D monitor and piloting the starfighter with two shiftable sticks.[3]

Torra Doza owned the three versions of the game in her quarters on the refueling station Colossus.[1] In 34 ABY,[4] she played one of the versions with Kazuda Xiono.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Flight Simulator Squadron first appeared in "Secrets and Holograms," the tenth episode of the first season of the animated television series Star Wars Resistance.[1]

The game was created as a cross between the real-world video games Asteroids and Dance Dance Revolution. In early drafts of the episode, the game was not a flight simulator and instead involved players navigating “an Ewok through lasers fired by stormtroopers."[5]
