Folor was an airless moon of the planet Commenor, and was the larger of the planet's two satellites. It was barren, mountainous, and frost-coated. The Commenorians once mined the moon.
History[]
During the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire, a huge meteor hit Folor. Consequently, the impact produced thousand miles long fissures in the surface which exposed rich mineral deposits.[1]
By the time of the Galactic Civil War the mining facilities had been abandoned.
The New Republic set up Folor Base on the moon, which was used as a training facility by Rogue Squadron and Wraith Squadron. The base was originally commanded by General Horton Salm, who was later replaced by General Edor Crespin.
After the Battle of Folor, in which Folor Base was destroyed by Imperial Admiral Apwar Trigit, the moon was abandoned by the Republic.
Behind the scenes[]
Folor first appeared in the Legends novel X-Wing: Rogue Squadron, written by Michael A. Stackpole and published by Bantam Spectra in 1996.[2]
