A Force scream was a type of Force power used by those aligned with the dark side of the Force. The phenomenon occurred when a Force-user let out a scream fueled by strong negative emotions, such as fear, rage, pain, and grief, imbued with the power of the Force.[source?]
Description[edit | edit source]
The effects and results of the scream could vary depending on the intensity of emotion experienced by the user during the event, as well as their particular level of strength in the Force itself. For some, the phenomenon would only serve to amplify the volume of the user's voice to a potentially disorienting degree or distorting it to monstrous and inhuman cry for a brief time, which would serve to intimidate. Alternatively, the event could simultaneously manifest as ripples in the Force that could telepathically radiate the emotions of the user, as well as cause physical damage to their surroundings in the form of a devastating telekinetic shockwave or tremor.[source?]
Notable uses[edit | edit source]
After regaining his memory on Dathomir, Sith apprentice Darth Maul used a Force scream of anguish at his ruined state and his abandonment by his master. He later used this technique again while dueling Asajj Ventress and Obi-Wan Kenobi above Raydonia, briefly altering his voice into a bestial roar.[source?]
Upon learning of the death of his wife, Padmé Amidala, Darth Vader shamefully unleashed a powerful Force scream of grief that damaged the medical chamber he was inside.[1] It echoed through the whole facility, causing the sensors to go haywire. Staff members believed that the scream carried the death cries of the Clone Wars.{{Fact
Later, upon seeing her Padawan Trilla Suduri become the Second Sister Inquisitor, Jedi Knight Cere Junda let out an angry and devastated Force scream that destroyed the torture table she was restrained to and blew back Trilla and the guards around her, the latter of whom were killed by the telekinetic blast.[2]
