A Force Wave,[2] also known as a Force pulse,[3] was a phenomenon of the Force.[4] Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[5] a Force wave was released as a result of the destruction of the Fermata Cage and spread across the galaxy.[4] As it rippled outward, Darth Sidious noted that his grip on the Force became tenuous.[6] Later, when the Force wave returned, it caused a massive disturbance in the Force that caused Sly Moore and Darth Vader to lose control of their powers, with Vader devastating his immediate surroundings.[7] Sidious, however, was able to take control of the Force once again due to his power in it.[8] Vader managed to regain his control over the Force during a skirmish against the Scourge, in which he focused on his hatred and used his hate of himself to focus his abilities.[9]
