Force binding, also known as Force containment, was a Force power of the light side of the Force that gave its users the ability to contain the influence that an artifact of the dark side of the Force had on its surroundings. Members of the Jedi Order used binding rituals on artifacts so that they could be transported safely.[1] In 232 BBY,[2] Jedi Master Cohmac Vitus, Jedi Knight Orla Jareni, and Jedi Padawan Reath Silas used Force binding on a set of four idols they discovered on the Amaxine station.[1]

  2. The Star Wars Book dates the launch of the Starlight Beacon to 232 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 232 BBY in the dating system used by Star Wars: Galactic Atlas. As The High Republic: Into the Dark depicts the dedication of the Starlight Beacon, its events must occur in that year.
