The audiobook was performed by January LaVoy and was released by Disney–Lucasfilm Press on April 17, 2018.

Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens to 34 ABY, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary places Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren six years earlier. Therefore, these chapters takes place between 28 ABY and 34 ABY
