The result of the debate was Support proposal 1; insufficient participation on vote 2. Imperators II(Talk) 07:46, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
No rest for the wikied! Carrying on from Forum:SH:Fan podcast notability, I think it would be good to have a stopgap to ensure we have at least some consistent rules on articles for fan podcasts, and indeed a wider range of fan organisations. Disagreements can be hashed out in later votes, and I've made this a bit strict so that we can get some consensus on the issue, keeping in mind that something is better than nothing.

Under Wookieepedia:Notability of fan projects' "Fan websites and organizations" point, add:
- Articles may be created for fan organizations that are or have been in official partnerships with Lucasfilm, such as hosting a panel at Star Wars Celebration. Interviewing Lucasfilm-affiliated creators and staff by itself does not qualify, nor does being mentioned by a Lucasfilm source, such as StarWars.com. The existence of such partnerships must have been officially recognized by Lucasfilm, rather than the organization's own claim, in accordance with the attribution policy. A fan organization that does not qualify for a Wookieepedia article may have a {{Softredirect}} page linking to a corresponding article on Fanpedia.
- Fan organization articles should only document officially recognized work along with basic information about the organization, such as their main work and key members. The article may link to the organization's website and social media accounts, if applicable, and avoid linking directly to their work, such as a podcast list on Spotify or YouTube. Their work and members are not notable for articles of their own by virtue of association with the organization and may simply be redirected to the article.

- My thanks to the fellow Wookieepedians who've helped bring this to a proper vote, and gratitudes also to everyone who has participated in prior discussions. For those who want looser restrictions, may this be a first step to codifying such pages! OOM 224 (he/him) 20:50, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
- Basically the way I see this is that it does allow for the Celebration-style articles and also anything that has any sort of Lucasfilm affiliation. But also, it's an absolute must to get some guidelines in that have that as a requirement, however slight, lest Wook end up with tons of podcast articles for anyone who wishes to have one. And, that affiliation can be very slim or barely, but it should at least have something.—spookywillowwtalk 20:54, 7 May 2024 (UTC)

- I guess it's better to give them an article than to list them on the celebration articles only (my preferred choice initially), since it easier to track down if a podcast has participated in several Celebration that way, and I really want the issue to be codified anyway. - Good opportunity to highlight the work of other Star Wars fans. Would it be possible to include Star Wars fan YouTube, Discord and TikTok accounts as well? Andykatib 23:37, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if we'd be happy with counting social media accounts alone as organisations. I'm open to making articles for these content creators if they have made official partnerships directly with Lucasfilm as a company, but I'm a bit wary if the only official link is, say, a one-off collaboration for a single social media post. I definitely encourage this to be brought up in the Senate Hall as a follow-up. OOM 224 (he/him) 08:48, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

- Support for now, though with disagreement: ...nor does being mentioned by a Lucasfilm source, such as StarWars.com. The existence of such partnerships must have been officially recognized by Lucasfilm, rather than the organization's own claim... This is contradictory. Being mentioned by a Lucasfilm source IS being officially recognized by Lucasfilm and therefore should qualify. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:41, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

In this proposal, the community votes that fan podcasts that have hosted a panel at Celebration should not, by that criterion, receive an article. Instead:
1) Create a List of fan podcasts at Celebration and set in place the text:
- "This list of fan podcasts at Celebration is reserved for fan podcasts that have hosted a panel at Star Wars Celebration, officially organized by Lucasfilm.
2) Modify the points in the main vote like so—removal struck through and additions highlighted in bold:
- Articles may be created for fan organizations that are or have been in official partnerships with Lucasfilm
, such as hosting a panel at Star Wars Celebration. If a fan organization has hosted a panel at Star Wars Celebration, it can be listed on the List of fan podcasts at Celebration. An organization that does not qualify for a Wookieepedia article or listing may have a {{Softredirect}} page linking to a corresponding article on Fanpedia. - Fan organization articles and the List of fan podcasts at Celebration should only document officially recognized work along with basic information about the organization, such as their main work and key members. The article may link to the organization's website and social media accounts, if applicable, and avoid linking directly to their work, such as a podcast list on Spotify or YouTube. Their work and members are not notable for articles of their own by virtue of association with the organization and may simply be redirected to the article.
