Hello all;

About five years ago, we voted to have the French interwiki links direct to the non-Wikia Wookiepedia.fr due to (among other things) concerns over the Wikia-hosted community and the fact that the non-Wikia offshoot was overall more organized with better articles. All of the reasons can be read on the original CT page.

However, as I have recently found out, Wookiepedia.fr is no longer live, and possibly has not been for some time (their Twitter account has not been active since mid-2014). This means that many of our French-language interwiki links go nowhere. On a positive note, the Wikia-based French Star Wars wiki has been revitalized over the years, and now has an active community led by Treejy, over six thousand content articles, and is adding current content and releases.

I believe it is in the best interest of Wookieepedia to change our French interwiki links to point towards the Wikia-based French wiki rather have them go nowhere, or removed entirely. This will require a slight modification to the interlang template, and quite likely some bot or manual clean-up to identify outbound French language links and adjust them accordingly. - Sir Cavalier of One^{(Squadron channel)} 14:21, August 12, 2016 (UTC)
