The result of the debate was Amend sourcing policy with proposed change. grunny@wookieepedia:~$ 04:28, January 22, 2013 (UTC)
This should hopefully be a minor modification. Currently the sourcing policy contains the following rule:
|
First, as I'm sure everyone is aware since it's been plastered on the sitenotice and community corner for the past several days, {{Ref}} is now deprecated. Therefore the bullet point can and should be removed, and doing so could even be done without a CT as simple housekeeping. However, I would like to make one other small change at the same time to the main numbered point. Currently, the wording of "may" only permits references to be used in infoboxes and does not require them. However, current practice is to require them in infoboxes of status articles. Therefore, I propose the above quote be changed to read:
|
This will ensure that the policy correctly reflects current practice. —MJ— Training Room 03:34, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

- "8. Follow the same referencing policy that applies to every other part of the article except the bit that needs to look pretty for the front page. Also, don't use a template that serves no purpose." Yeah, let's go for it. :P -- Darth Culator (Talk) 14:41, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

- While I find that references make infoboxes look a bit more messy than I'd like, I think it's important that status articles (and really, all articles) have information cited to the best of our ability. — DigiFluid(Whine here) 13:57, January 16, 2013 (UTC)
