Why did'nt Yoda inform Luke about Force Lightning and how to counter it? Their is a huge, almost 100% chance that the Emperor would employ it offensively and having Luke unprepared would have screwed everything. Also what things did Luke learn in his training and how long did he spend on Dagobah? NOTE: This is a three-part question.24.193.145.164 23:05, January 3, 2012 (UTC)
- 1. I don't believe so. 2 and 3, I don't know. Anakin Skyobiliviator (talk) 23:47, January 3, 2012 (UTC)
- In the ROTJ novelization, Luke does try to deflect the Force lightning and is briefly successful in doing so. So it's likely that he was taught about it, just off-screen. Master Jon Holocomm Wednesday, January 4, 2012, 21:39 UTC
- Luke had already thrown away his lightsaber when Palpatine used force lightning on him, so he couldn't use it to deflect the energy. And I guess the ability to absorb/deflect force lightning like Yoda did is something that only very experienced Jedi have learned to master - otherwise we would have seen this ability a lot more often. And countering the force lightning of (one of) the most powerful Sith Lord in history could be a lot more difficult than some lightning from a comparatively weak Dark Jedi. --Craven 05:03, January 5, 2012 (UTC)
