Forums > Senate Hall > SH:"Cyborg" in the Appearances section

I think it's past time we, as the collected contributors to this wiki, figured out a small but prevalent issue with the Appearances sections: where do we put "Cyborg"?

Typically, it has been linked under "Species", as a sub-bullet beneath the species of the individual possessing cybernetics. The problem with this approach is that when you have media containing cyborgs from multiple species (e.g. "Duel of the Droids", "Twilight of the Apprentice", etc.) this approach cannot be carried out. In those cases, "cyborg" is usually then listed by itself in the species section – but this creates another problem, that being that "cyborg" is not a species in and of itself. It's a designation for individuals with cybernetics.

The primary question I am posing here is, which section is better? "Cyborg" certainly doesn't fit under Species, no matter how traditional it's gotten to put it there. It really should be under "Weapons & Technology" or "Miscellaneous", but which one fits better? I might do a CT thread based on what everyone else has to say. • Well-spotted; "cyborg" has absolutely nothing to do with species. I believe "Miscellaneous" would be the best fit, since in some way "cyborg" is a status or a classification of a person, as opposed to a type of technology. Imperators II(Talk) 21:01, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
    • Agreed. Never put much thought into it's placement myself, but this makes more sense. We already put Force-sensitives under Misc, this isn't much different. RattsT (talk) 21:04, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
    • Yeah, cyborg would go in Miscellaneous, while cybernetics would go in Weapons and technology. Erebus Chronus (Talk) 21:09, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
      • I can work with this. Related question, then what about something like cloning, which is the process and not actually about clones? Would having a page for clones separate from the process be better? Always felt a little weird about including the process pipelinked as clone under the species Lewisr (talk) 21:10, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
        • Ignore the question, best to not go off that for now Lewisr (talk) 21:15, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
    • Per Imperators. --NanoLuukeCloning facility 07:59, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
  • I think we should list it in miscellaneous, along with Force sensitive YakovChaimTzvi (he/him/his) ChissAscendancyCanonSymbol.svg (talk) 21:52, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
