I was wondering why isn't there a place in the infobox of out-universe publications like magazines, books or videogames for the suggested retail price? It is an information worth having, I think. --PadawanKenobi (talk) 20:21, August 27, 2016 (UTC)
- Probably because pricing isn't too consistent always (Even if the suggested retail value could be determined as the base) plus there'd have to be some decision as too whose currency(ies) we were to use (Should it be in USD? GBP? Both? Republic Credits?). My thoughts, anyways. A merchandise wiki (Which I think exists?) would make better use of the price in the infobox. --Clonehunter(Report your W.M.D.) 19:10, August 28, 2016 (UTC)
- Well, the suggested retail price is set in stone, so obviously use that. I can foresee some exceptions, but there are exceptions in almost everything. As for the currency, well, it's the same as the page count. That's also something I don't know, how do you determine which version's page count do you use for the infobox? The paperback? Hardback? American release? UK? First print? What if it's a simultaneous launch? And at least, I would think that price should be included in the listing of different versions, right after ISBN and page count/format. --PadawanKenobi (talk) 20:07, August 28, 2016 (UTC)
- I'm just not sure it's something that's really necessary, or something that people want. Just going by precedent for example, Memory Alpha / Beta don't list this information in their articles. Neither does Wikipedia. If people want pricing information, they can go to a bookseller site like Amazon. As for your latter question, I think hardcover U.S. is typically used as the default. - Agree with Clonehunter that this is something better left to the Merchandise Wiki, which does exist. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 00:04, August 29, 2016 (UTC)
