Star Wars #7 is NOT set in 5 BBY as previously reported by Dork Side of the Force.
I tweeted editor Jordan D. White (@cracksh0t) to get confirmation of the report from Dork Side of the Force (the only proof of Star Wars #7 being set in 5 BBY) and he said:
@TMBGeeks tweetd: "@cracksh0t Was the reporting from @DorkSideOForce correct in that you announced at BookCon that #StarWars #7 is set 5 years priot to ANH?"
@cracksh0t tweeted: "@TMBGeeks @DorkSideOForce I think that's when Rebels is set, no? Luke looks younger than that."
And then @cracksh0t tweeted: "@TMBGeeks @DorkSideOForce he looks like 8ish to me."
You can see the whole conversation here: https://twitter.com/cracksh0t/status/626888339249991680
That would put Star Wars #7 roughly 11 BBY (or "21" according to Wookieepedia's measurement of years). I sent a follow-up to @DorkSideOForce to see if they could figure out where the misunderstanding in their reporting came from but no reply yet.
EDIT: My topic title was changed to simply "Star Wars" because it automatically dropped the # and everything after it when submitting. I didn't know the number sign wasn't allowed and I don't have permissions to change my title since I'm new to Wookieeepedia

- Interesting. That would be enough for me to change it to "circa 11 years before the Battle of Yavin," but I'd like to hear Dork Side of the Force's response, if they have one. Please keep us posted if you hear anything else. IFYLOFD (Talk) 00:08, July 31, 2015 (UTC)
- So here's the update. I was lead down a trail that ended at the audio .mp3 of the Marvel panel at BookCon. Here's what was said:
- So here's the update. I was lead down a trail that ended at the audio .mp3 of the Marvel panel at BookCon. Here's what was said:
- Heather Antos (assistant editor): "...(inaudible) 10 years, 5 years before episode 4..."
- Jordan White (editor): "Eeeeh something like 10 years before because Luke's pretty young..."
- I'll be using the tweets between me and Jordan White on my website as the source for circa 11 BBY and I'd really appreciate it if they would be used as the source on Wookieepedia too since I dug through all this. It would give my site just a touch of credibility after all the hard work I've put into my site. Thanks.

- The trail (in case it matters):
- @DorkSideOForce didn't reply so I asked the author of the article Elaine Tveit @tveitlight25 who said she got the info from @stitchkingdom who was live-tweeting BookCon who said @BlueJaigEyes recorded the panel who then replied with a link to a dead page but I searched the site and found the audio .mp3 of BookCon here: http://thewookieegunner.com/2015/05/30/bookcon-2015-marvel-presents-star-wars-panel/ The audio in question is 10:32-11:07
