Free Comic Book Day 2005 is a Legends one-shot comic book. It was written by Miles Lane, illustrated by Nicola Scott, and published as a Free Comic Book Day title on May 1, 2005 by Dark Horse Comics.

The story takes place approximately four and a half months before the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and immediately after the comic book series Star Wars: Obsession.

Plot summary[]

STAR WARS

The chaos of war engulfs
the galaxy. The Jedi, forced
to cast off their traditional
peacekeeping roles, have become
generals commanding vast clone
armies in a seemingly endless
succession of battles against
Separatist forces. Obi-Wan
Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker,
however, have gone on the hunt
for Count Dooku and General
Grievous in hopes of finding a
more expeditious end to the
Clone Wars…

The comic's editor, Randy Stradley, originally called the issue Brothers in Arms, before discovering that title had already been used in Republic 50.^[2]

Star Wars—Free Comic Book Day 2005 Special falls within the Clone Wars multimedia project, and the issue dates itself to "approximately four and a half months before the events in Revenge of the Sith (immediately after the events in the Star Wars: Obsession series)."
