The Free Trade sector,[2] also known as the Morlana sector,[5] or as the Morlana One Sector,[8] was a sector under the control of Preox-Morlana within the galaxy's Outer Rim region. It contained the Morlani system, which was itself home to the desert world of Ferrix.[2] The Galactic Empire used the ambush on Ferrix as a justification to take control of Preox's Morlana's territory.[5] After initially falling as part of Lieutenant Blevin's territory, the sector was placed under Lieutenant Dedra Meero's supervision by Major Lio Partagaz as a reward for her due diligence and its importance to her investigation into the early rebellion against the Galactic Empire.[6]
