- "Fruit always tastes nice when it's ripe. But it can't stay like that. Every nice piece of fruit will rot on the branch if it hangs there long enough."
- ―Glen Taffral
Fruits were a popular type of food in the galaxy. They were eaten raw or cooked in dishes and were considered a treat and a priced delicacy during times of war.[9] Fruit contained seeds[7] and grew on trees.[4] A much loved dish was jogan fruitcake, which called for the main ingredient, jogan fruit, to be both baked in the batter and used as a topping.[9] Fruit could also be dried and eaten as a snack.[8]
Fruit could be used as a non-lethal weapon; when the First Order occupied the refueling station Colossus, the local residents protested by pelting the stormtroopers with fruit at the marketplace.[10]
