The Great Purge of Mandalore saw a large fleet of TIE bombers unleashed a barrage of fusion bombs, laying waste to the planet's surface.
Fusion bombs were a type of powerful bomb device utilized by the Galactic Empire. During the Great Purge of Mandalore, the Imperial Navy deployed a massive fleet of TIE/sa bombers armed with fusion bombs, devastating the domed cities of the planet and crystalizing much of its surface, converting it into trinitite. The bombs were also capable of disrupting the magnetic field of a planet and causing communication interference, as well as the pollution of the world's atmosphere.[1]
