GWC-04 was a battle droid in the service of the Droid Army of the Trade Federation during its colonization effort on the moon Alaris Prime[1] between 39 BBY and 36 BBY.[3] GWC-04 commanded an outpost which contained a troop center that produced B1 battle droids.[1]
Following the advice of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, the outpost was attacked for its strategic importance by Wookiee colonists led by Chewbacca, who wished to drive the Federation off Alaris Prime. Five of GWC-04's B1 battle droids failed to protect the outpost, and they were all destroyed along with the troop center.[1]

GWC-04 was first mentioned in the 2001 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds as the commander of the Trade Federation units in the fifth level of the Wookiee tutorial campaign, "Exploration and Transport."[1]
