The Ga'Garen Codex was a grimoire that was thousands of years old by the time of the High Republic Era, its mysteries confounding many linguists. Eventually, the Codex was stored in the Jedi's Great Temple. After experiencing a traumatizing Force vision following the dedication of the Starlight Beacon space station[1] in 232 BBY,[2] Jedi Master Elzar Mann consulted the Ga'Garen Codex for answers.[1]
Mann's efforts to decipher the grimoire's mysteries led him to travel to Ashla, a sacred moon of[1] the planet[2] Tython, to seek peace on its Isle of Seclusion.[1] In 231 BBY,[3] months after the station's dedication, the Jedi Master thought about how the Codex had prompted him to travel to Ashla.[1]
