Gabredor III was a planet that was under the control of the Galactic Empire. It contained a colony that was home to a number of refugees from the planet Tatooine including Kitster Banai and Wald.[2] Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[4] Gabredor III was governed by[2] Tauntaza[5] who began to use the services of Crimson Dawn to consolidate her power. The former handmaiden Sabé enlisted the help of the Sith Lord Darth Vader to save the refugees from the governor and when they arrived at the planet they visited the colony and discovered that the planet was drying up because of a drought.[2]
