The Galactic Travel Commission was an authority responsible for galaxy-wide travel. The commission received a share of every ticket bought by travelers on official passenger transports.

In Sony Online Entertainment's MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies the players can buy flights to other cities and planets at shuttleports and spaceports. When a ticket is bought, a system message notifies the player that the payment has been made to the Galactic Travel Commission.
