Galidraan was a planet of snow-capped mountains and large pine forests, and was controlled by a planetary governor, who resided in an opulent castle in the midst of a forest.
History[]
Galidraan was absorbed into Xim's Empire as he expanded his borders from the Kingdom of Cron circa 25,126 BBY.[4] After the fall of the empire in 25,100 BBY, it would eventually join the Galactic Republic.
Twenty-two years before the Battle of Geonosis, Mandalore Jango Fett and the True Mandalorians were hired to put down an insurrection on the planet Galidraan. After the rebels were defeated, the Governor of Galidraan (with his ally Tor Viszla, the leader of Death Watch) framed the True Mandalorians for murdering "political activists" and begged the Jedi Order to come stop them.
The Jedi Council sent a task force led by Jedi Master Dooku and Padawan Komari Vosa, who killed all but two Mandalorians (Jango Fett and Silas) during the Battle of Galidraan. Fett himself killed six Jedi with his bare hands. The Jedi would later discover they had been tricked into slaughtering the True Mandalorians by the governor.
In the aftermath of the battle, Fett was sold into slavery. He escaped two years later, at which point he returned to Galidraan to reclaim his armor.
After the Declaration of a New Order, Galidraan was soon absorbed into the Galactic Empire.
