- "Galmerah… Time to leave this hellhole…for another."
- ―Beilert Valance, while on Eriadu
Galmerah was a graveyard planet located in the galaxy. During the time of the Galactic Empire, a number of bounty hunters visited Galmerah while hunting down Nakano Lash, a fellow bounty hunter who disappeared after an apparent betrayal years prior. While on Galmerah, hunters Bossk and Beilert Valance entered into a skirmish after the latter discovered map coordinates that supposedly led to Lash.
Description[]
A terrestrial planet with a barren, rocky surface and a breathable atmosphere, Galmerah orbited at least two stars. A species of flying creatures could be found on the planet.[1]
History[]
- "Coordinates, huh? You always were Lash's little pet. Maybe that means you were in on her betrayal all along."
"Believe what you want. You were the one who fled unscathed…while I paid the price."
"Don't matter…I don't need extra motivation to kill you and pluck those coordinates out of your droid! Now, let's give the monks—another death to mourn." - ―Bossk and Beilert Valance
By the time of the Galactic Empire, Galmerah was known as a graveyard planet, with its surface covered with graves and memorials to the dead.[1] In 3 ABY,[2] the Nautolan bounty hunter Nakano Lash, who had disappeared after betraying fellow hunters in a mission, resurfaced.[1] The rogue archaeologist Doctor Chelli Aphra[3] acquired information that connected Lash to Galmerah, where her parents were buried, and provided the details to the bounty hunter Bossk. The hunter Boba Fett learned of Lash's connection to Galmerah from interrogating the black market technology dealer Jhorstek on[1] the planet[4] Eriadu, while Beilert Valance visited Galmerah after watching a security recording of Jhorstek's interrogation.[1]
On Galmerah, Valance discovered that the grave of Lash's parents was emitting a message in the Nautila language that contained map coordinates. However, before Valance could follow the coordinates, he was attacked by Bossk, who wished to find Lash himself.[1]
Inhabitants[]
- "Will you kindly donate alms for a humble caretaker of souls, noble traveler?"
"Get away from me or I'll send your soul to the Scorekeeper myself."
"Please…please remember…mercy is a blessing." - ―A monk of Galmerah and Bossk
Galmerah was inhabited by a number of monks, who claimed to be the caretakers of the souls of those who had died.[1]
Locations[]
- "This is it. Her parents' grave."
- ―Beilert Valance, arriving at the grave of Lash's parents
A large number of graves and memorials were scattered across the surface of Galmerah, while other graves were suspended above the ground.[1]
