The Galtea Binary system was located in the Kathol Outback region of the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories in grid square M-21 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]

The Galtea Binary system was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025. Both works were authored by Jason Fry.[2] The system was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity via an appearance in "Traitor in our Midst," the sixth roleplaying game adventure in The DarkStryder Campaign, a 1995 West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game boxed set. The adventure was written by Eric S. Trautmann and Paul Sudlow.[3] It was subsequently identified by name in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.[4]
