- "Why is the help here so incompetent? One word from Daddy and I could get you fired!"
- ―Gana Lavin threatens Revan
The father of the Human female Gana Lavin was an influential man who lived during the Jedi Civil War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. His daughter grew up in the luxury of the Upper City on the Outer Rim city world of Taris, and many considered her to be spoiled. He employed thugs that she would often use to rough up those that angered her.
In 3956 BBY, the former Dark Lord of the Sith Revan, who lost his memories and believed himself to be a Republic soldier, encountered Gana Lavin in the Upper City Cantina on Taris. She had ordered drinks for herself and a young noble, but they had not yet arrived. Frustrated, and assuming Revan to be a waiter, she confronted him. Lavin insulted his clothing and threatened to use her father's influence to have him fired. Revan convinced her that he would bring out the drinks, and a moment later an actual waiter arrived with them, ending the conflict.
Behind the scenes
- "How dare you speak to me like that! Daddy's going to hear about this!"
- ―Gana Lavin to Revan in potential dialogue
Gana Lavin's father was first mentioned in the 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, developed by BioWare. The mention occurs during dialogue with Gana Lavin, who refers to him as "Daddy." No dialogue involving him affects the story, quests, or alignment.
If the player fails a persuasion check or selects other dialogue with Gana Lavin, she will run out of the cantina claiming that she will tell her father about the situation. When the player leaves the cantina, they will encounter Lavin and two Rodian thugs wielding vibroblades. After the player defeats them, Lavin will run off and call for her father.
