- "Well let me make it simple for you. That's a garbage scow. And the salvage yard that uses that kind of Arkon II level transports in this sector is located on—"
- ―Tarr Kligson to Jango Fett, advising the latter to look for a garbage scow on Halliron-7
Garbage scows were a model of starship. Around 33 BBY, the Chevin Renzoh Silliac was hired to transport the thief Nakano Lash in one of his garbage scows to his salvage yard on the astronomical object Hallitron-7, but ultimately booked her on a commuter shuttle headed to another destination after learning those who had hired him wanted to kill the thief. Helped by the bounty hunter Tarr Kligson, the bounty hunter Jango Fett tracked down the garbage scow to Hallitron-7.
Characteristics[]
Garbage scows were a starship model that featured a cockpit, communications systems,[2] and engines.[1]
History[]
- "I was paid…a lot…to transport the thief and the statue here for pickup hidden in one of my scows."
- ―Renzoh Silliac to Jango Fett
At the onset of the Great Hyperspace Disaster[2] in 232 BBY,[3] Hetzal system scantechs Merven Getter and Vel Carann issued a system-wide alarm warning of the unexpected objects entering their area of space, with the former contemplating how their message would be heard everywhere, including the cockpits of garbage scows.[2]

Tarr Kligson helped Jango Fett track a garbage scow to Hallitron-7.
On the astronomical object Jaloria[1] around 33 BBY,[4] a replica of the Hope of Glee Anselm artifact on display during a treaty ceremony—which its participants believed to be the real artifact—was stolen by several thieves, including the Nautolan Nakano Lash.[5] The Chevin Renzoh Silliac was hired to transport Lash and the artifact via one of his Arkon II level transport garbage scows to his salvage yard on the astronomical object Hallitron-7. However, when he learned that those who had hired him intended to kill Lash instead, he wanted to save her life and booked her on a commuter shuttle scheduled to make a supply drop on[1] the planet[5] Roxuli before continuing on to[1] the planet[2] Coruscant.[1]
Not long after, an information broker on Coruscant became aware of a lone garbage scow that had left Jaloria after it had been locked down via a recording reflected off a comm satellite. When the bounty hunter Jango Fett embarked on a search for the thieves who had taken the artifact, the informant presented him with a datapad showing the recording of the garbage scow. Tarr Kligson, a friend of Fett, tried to gather information on the garbage scow but found that all records of it had been scrubbed.[1] He[6] reported this to Fett, and told the hunter that the ship was a garbage scow, similar to the ones found in the junkyards of Hallitron-7. There, Fett interrogated Silliac, who admitted to his part in being hired to transport Lash and the artifact with his garbage scow.[1]
Behind the scenes[]

In the current canon, garbage scows made their first full appearance in Jango Fett 2.
In the current Star Wars canon, garbage scows were mentioned in Light of the Jedi, a 2021 novel written by Charles Soule[2] as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase I.[7] Prior to its release, a mention of the ship was included in a StarWars.com preview for the novel on November 12, 2020.[8] A garbage scow made its first full appearance in the second issue of the 2024 Star Wars: Jango Fett comic-book miniseries. The issue was written by Ethan Sacks, penciled by Luke Ross,[9] and published by Marvel Comics on April 24, 2024.[10]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, garbage scows were first introduced in Lando Calrissian and the Starcave of ThonBoka, a 1983 novel written by L. Neil Smith as the third installment of the Star Wars: The Lando Calrissian Adventures trilogy.[11] In the real world, garbage scows are large watercraft used to transport waste and garbage across waterways.[12]
