The Geonosian alphabet was the written form of the language used by Geonosians, a species of sentient insects from the planet Geonosis.
Behind the scenes[]
For Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, a highly angular written form of Geonosian was developed by Philip Metschan at the request of George Lucas. This font type was developed in conjunction with "Star Wars '76" based upon an earlier Joe Johnston typeface used in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. The "Geonosian" typeface can be seen woven into the Geonosian Death Star display screens throughout Episode II.[1][2] In The New Essential Guide to Droids, the logo of Kalibac Industries is made of the letters "K" and I" in Metschan's Geonosian alphabet.[3][1]
